Half-Day Pancake Rocks & Seal Colony Tour from Greymouth

What to expect on the half-day tour

This half-day guided tour is designed for comfort and small groups (up to 7 people). It's a scenic tour – no meals or tastings are included – so it's ideal if you want to see the highlights of the northern West Coast in a morning. Below is the itinerary and important information to help you prepare.

PLEASE NOTE: A moderate level of fitness is required – rocky steps and a moderate incline are part of the first two stops. Comfortable shoes for walking required. On wet days a raincoat and maybe a change of clothes is recommended (when it rains it REALLY rains)

Sunblock and a sunhat/cap may be useful in summer.

This tour is for adults aged 18 and over.

Pick up and drop off in Greymouth are included.

• 8:00 AM – Depart Greymouth
  Head north along the scenic Great Coast Road.
• 8:30 – 9:30 AM – Punakaiki Pancake Rocks & Blowholes
  Marvel at one of New Zealand’s most unique geological formations.
• 10:30 – 11:30 AM – Tauranga Bay Seal Colony, Cape Foulwind
  Watch fur seals relaxing and playing in their natural habitat, with dramatic Tasman Sea views.
• 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – Scenic drive back to Greymouth
  Enjoy the Coast Road views on the way back, arriving in Greymouth around 1:00pm.
