About the Tour

PLEASE NOTE: A moderate level of fitness is required – rocky steps and a moderate incline are part of the first two stops. Comfortable shoes for walking required. On wet days a raincoat and maybe a change of clothes is recommended (when it rains it REALLY rains)

Sunblock and a sunhat/cap may be useful in summer.

Covid recommendations apply to the businesses we visit.

Tour is designed to suit adults as alcohol is served so while R18 is preferred teenagers are welcome if supervised by a parent at all times.

Pick up and drop off to Hokitika and elsewhere may be possible by prior arrangement.

8:30 AM

‍We meet at the Greymouth Town Square, opposite the clock tower and leave for Punakaiki, enjoying the scenery along the famous Coastal Highway.

Approx. times here after:

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Punakaiki–Pancake Rocks and blowholes

Continue along the Coast Road to...

10:45 AM to 11:45 AM Tauranga Bay Seal Colony

12:00 PM We then head into Westport for our delicious lunch at one of 3 great venues.

1:00 PM to 1.30 PM Shortjaw Brewery for a tasting including their award winning
Beer (Tuesday to Saturday)

We then drive through the mighty Buller Gorge to Reefton, with stops for photo opportunities. Along the way we may also stop at Rotokuhu Lavender

2:30 pm - 3:15 pm In Reefton, where highly recommended is a visit to the Award Winning Reefton Distillery (try their award winning Gin) or wander around the charming township.

3:15 PM to 5:00pm Takes us through the farmland of the Grey Valley with a visit to Brunner Mine Memorial and Historic area for a short walk  and then back to Greymouth where our tour ends at the Town Square (or your accommodation)
